Meet Ilyric “Lyric” Dorn: The Cursed Oracle of the Forgotten Ones

Every story has that one character who refuses to stay confined to the page, demanding your attention with every word. In *Dance with the Moonlight*, that character is Ilyric “Lyric” Dorn. He is my favorite character developed so far. His quirky appearance and dark sense of humor make him someone I would likely hang out with in real life. Writing lyrics isn’t just a creative process—much like I imagine hanging out with him would be—it is an adventure. He’s unpredictable, chaotic, and endlessly fascinating. It would be perfect to spend hours in his company, knowing it would never be boring.

Lyric isn’t your typical hero—or even your typical antihero. As a Fae/Werewolf hybrid, he’s a rare blend of two worlds that neither fully accepts him. His title, **The Cursed Oracle of the Forgotten Ones**, hints at his enigmatic nature. He’s a seer, a trickster, and a keeper of forbidden knowledge, existing in the shadows between realms. Lyric thrives in the chaos of the unknown, and he’s unapologetically himself—a trait that makes him both captivating and unnerving.

 A Glimpse of Lyric’s Appearance

Picture Lyric in your mind: His mismatched eyes, one electric blue and the other a glowing violet, are the first to capture your attention. They pierce through the veil of reality, holding secrets too dangerous to share but impossible not to watch unfold. His mostly gray, wavy hair flows like a storm caught in the wind, framing a face as striking as it is mysterious.

He wears a tattered cloak adorned with intricate arcane symbols and charms, each detail hinting at the forbidden knowledge he carries. Rings decorate his fingers, and necklaces hang around his neck, each piece holding a story of its own. The faint glow of magical symbols on his skin adds an otherworldly aura, clarifying that Lyric is no ordinary being. His presence is magnetic, pulling you in even as it warns you to stay away.

A Keeper of Secrets and Riddles

What makes Lyric so intriguing is his chaotic, neutral nature. He doesn’t choose sides—why would he when it’s so much more entertaining to watch fate unfold? He’s like a cosmic observer, delighting in the drama of destiny while keeping just enough distance to remain untouchable. But don’t mistake his detachment for indifference. Lyric knows more than anyone should, and he has his opinions. He shares his insights in riddles and half-truths, leaving others to decipher his cryptic wisdom.

 A Scene from Lyric’s World

The moon hangs full and heavy in the sky, its silver light spilling across a forest clearing. Lyric stands at the center, his mismatched eyes glowing in the moonlight. Ravens perch on twisted branches around him, their black feathers gleaming like onyx. The air hums with thick and electric magic as Lyric kneels to trace glowing symbols into the earth with a silver-tipped finger.

“Do you hear it?” he asks, his voice low and melodic. “The threads of fate, twisting and snapping like frayed strings on a lute? It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Chaos in its purest form.”

His smile is sharp, almost playful, as he glances up. “Careful,” he murmurs, his tone laced with dark humor. “The future is a fickle thing. It’s best not to stare too long, or it might stare back.”

The Chaotic Charm of Lyric Dorn

Lyric’s charm lies in his contradictions. He’s wise yet playful, detached yet deeply aware, an outcast who feels at home in the liminal spaces between worlds. Beneath the riddles and smirks lies a character shaped by rejection, isolation, and the weight of knowledge no one else can bear. Writing him is like trying to capture lightning in a bottle—exhilarating, unpredictable, and utterly worth the ride.

So here’s to Ilyric “Lyric” Dorn, the Cursed Oracle of the Forgotten Ones—a character as unforgettable as the secrets he keeps. If you’re reading *Dance with the Moonlight*, prepare yourself. Lyric isn’t just a character; he’s an experience and one you won’t soon forget.
